Inspired by the age-old blends of northern India, this oil brings together two time-honoured hair allies. Amla, or Indian gooseberry, is rich in Vitamin C and known to revitalise the scalp while promoting natural shine. Shikakai, the 'fruit for hair', is a gentle cleanser that supports scalp balance and improves texture. Together, they help reduce product buildup, condition the roots, control hair loss, promote hair length and leave your hair light, soft, and naturally voluminous.

Clarity and Balance from India’s Orchards

Where It Begins Where It Begins

Where It Begins

Across India, Amla trees line courtyards and forests, their tart green fruits harvested for wellness and beauty. Ayurvedic texts describe Amla as “vrishya”, a rejuvenator valued for its rich Vitamin C content and ability to tone, cool, and nourish the scalp. It was often sun-dried, ground, or juiced, then infused into oils and tonics to strengthen hair and add natural shine.

Shikakai, the “fruit for hair,” was traditionally dried, powdered, and used as a natural shampoo. Families stored it in clay jars, using it to gently cleanse hair without stripping its natural oils. Its use was not cosmetic alone, it was chosen for its ability to maintain scalp balance, prevent dryness, and keep hair light, soft, and voluminous.  Together, Amla and Shikakai became a daily rhythm in many households, one to clarify, refresh, and keep hair naturally strong.

It was the perfect balance: Amla to nourish, Shikakai to cleanse. Used side by side, they formed a complete system of care.

Modern shampoos and treatments often over-cleanse or overload. Amla & Shikakai still provide a gentle, effective alternative that keeps hair healthy in the long run.
